I’m filling the faces of a six-sided crate with a wood material. Crates are obviously made up of multiple pieces of wood oriented in various directions but the fill tool always places the texture in the same orientation. Can I reposition the texture on multiple faces at once or do I have to move each plank’s texture individually?
Position the texture on one face of one plank how you like it. You can then sample this material and paint it on other faces. To do this press the B key for the paint buckst and then hold down the command key (macOS, I think this is control on a PC) and an eye dropper will appear - select the material have adjusted and then release the command or control key. You can then use the bucket to apply to other faces in your model.
Edit to add - if you edit your group or component and select all, then press B for the paint bucket and click a face you can paint your samples texture on all the faces you select at one time.
You can use ThruPaint. V1 is part of FredoTools and still free.
ThruPaint | SketchUcation (V1)
FredoTools | SketchUcation
LibFredo6 | SketchUcation (required to run FredoTools)
Or ThruPaint V2 as paid extension ThruPaint | SketchUcation
Thank you, bmike, for the explanation and the video. I appreciate your help.
