Paint back and front with different portions of same texture

When I try to position the texture on the back of the face, the front texture positions also. How do I just position the back and not the front also.

Is that thru paint you are using?

Thanks, I guess it was Thru Paint. The .gif is fuzzy. But Thru Paint worked.

Is there a way to fine tune the positon? Hitting the arrow keys moves it to far forward in the final move.
