Is inserting images into iPad solved yet

Hi all. This is my first post. Pretty new to SU in general, and am now an iPad user too,

I read through some posts about bringing an image into iPad, but none appear to have a firm solution.

I’ve tried jpg images taken on phone, scan, iPad camera and none import.

But if I bring in an image on my pro (or free) version, no problem with the image.

And then… if I transfer the resultant skp file to my iPad, the image is available.

So logic tells me this isn’t about file type or storage location, more that’s something is missing on the iPad version.

Any thoughts guys.
Cheers for now

Hi, welcome to the Community and the SketchUp world
Are you trying to import the image as Object or as Texture? I suggest you to try both on the iPad inset image tool

Thanks for the welcome!

Short answer is yes… and before posting too

What image extension are you trying to import?

File type is good ol .jpg

Actually I find that using split screen and drag/drop inserts the image. So it’s a decent workaround, but doesn’t explain why the native command doesn’t appear to work correctly.

I’m not having an issue with the image insertion on my iPad. Though I know there has been some grayed out options for where to import form, you’re saying only way they import for you is to split screen drag and drop, or bring them in already inserted into a model.

Which version are you working in? Current is 6.5.5?

I know you said you did the in-app Insertion options, but just to make sure we’re all on the same page that we can actually solve this….

Here is what I consider to be the operation for native image insertion…
