Inserting photos into Sketchup with Ipad

Hello, I am new to the world of sketchup Ipad.
Does anyone know if it is possible to insert an image as a background and insert Sketchup elements on the image? My goal is to show a client a photo of his balcony with some vases and plants inserted with Sketchup.
There are various tutorials online but only for the PC version and not for the iPad.
Please can someone help me?

Thanks in advance

Photomatch wasn’t part of SU for ipad in 2022, I don’t think it was added since.

however, if someone uses photomatch on a desktop version then the file contains the photomatched scene even in the ipad version

Ok thank you
I will try to do the first step from the computer.
let’s hope they put it in.

Thanks again for your help

Correct:

  • Match Photo doesn’t work on iPad
  • Match Photo done in a file on desktop will open and play on iPad

I’ve asked for this feature to be added, but I wouldn’t hold my breath.

There is a clumsier method of importing the photo as a water mark and matching the POV by trial and error, but I haven’t actually tried that on an iPad.

could you tell me or point me to a guide on how to do it on an iPad in the most awkward and trial-and-error way?

Hmmm apparently it’s the same issue, ipad version can display / toggle watermark but can’t add one ?
