You can easily find out whether the 3dConnexion driver is to blame by disabling it. Since SketchUp won’t launch, you need to do this by finding the extension ruby files and changing their extension from .rb to .rb! These days there are two of them: one in your own plugins folder, and a second one in the all users plugins folder. I’m assuming that 24H2 26100.4946 listed in your profile is a version of Windows. If that is correct, we’ll have to wait for a Windows 3dConnexion user to tell you where to find the files - I’m a Mac user.
Also, do the crashes generate BugSplats or does SketchUp just vaporize? If BugSplats, are you submitting them? If you include here the BugSplat number that you see in your browser after the splat, @colin or some other SketchUp team member can look it up and possibly tell you where SketchUp is crashing. Most often when SketchUp just vaporizes, there is a graphics driver issue.
The 3DConnexion extension gets installed in the SketchUp folder that is in the ProgramData hidden folder.

I have the same issue, SketchUp (2025 and 2026) will crash at startup as long as 3DxWare is installed on my pc. Skp2025 will simply vanish, while Skp2026 will return a bugsplat. I’ve reached out to 3Dconnexion but so far their suggestions failed to work.
Are you using any antivirus software other than Windows Defender? If so, try disabling it to see if that will allow SketchUp to open. Also Lumion is known to cause issues.
Thank you for the suggestion, I am using Bitdefender. I’ll try disabling it and see how it performs.
I have been in contact with 3D Connexion’s support team for over a week and while they were very responsive and hinted to many possible reasons, they weren’t able to help me fix the issue. In the end I just uninstalled Sketchup and reinstalled it. This solved the issue with the space mouse driver crashing Sketchup.
Leaving this here in case it helps someone else in the future.
