I was battling this about a month ago when I finally decided to update to 2026. I was on 2024 before and the 3D Connexion mouse has always worked fine. I 100% know its the Space Mouse extension because when I run 3DxWare64_v10-9-9_b721 as Admin, modify and uncheck the box for Sketchup, I can open 2026 just fine. I REALLY want to be able to continue using this mouse. I was having the same issue with 2025 but I found a loophole by adding BAK to one of the Sketchup file names, I think in Program Files. It reset everything and I had to rebuild 2025 from scratch (tray / toolbars / etc), but it worked. Now I can’t remember exactly how I did that. Feeling dumb. Please help!
After posting this I immediately discovered the was a new driver update for 3D Connexion. 3DxWare64_v10-9-10_b725
Same issue! SketchUp 2026 crashes when I try to open it.
Have you restarted your PC after the install of the new drivers?

You are likely speaking of the "PrivatePreferences.json" file.
On Windows, it is located in: %LocalAppData%/SketchUp/SketchUp 2026/SketchUp
The renaming must be done whilst SketchUp is closed.
