Importing revit model into sketchup

It is saying that the version of the revit file is not supported. I am trying to bring in a revit file into sketchup studio 25. It is not working. What do I need to do to the revit file before imorting into SketchUp? I do not have revit and this is getting annoying because I have had this happen multiple times in the past. What should I tell my architect to do before saving and sending my way?

Is it because the file was not saved in 3d view?

It’s likely because it’s a revit26 file.
And sketchup devs don’t have an immediate access to the library, therefore it takes a few month between the release of a new revit version and the compatibility update.

Here is the thread

Not before october

You could tell him to save it as an older version or export it to ifc and use ifc importer plugin on sketchup to keep hierarchies.

You can’t downgrade a Revit file to the previous version.

Hi @trevor Also you can export the file from Revit as DWG Format and then import it in Revit. It might be better but your need to do some cleaning. Good luck!
