on my previous computer which failed about a 6 months ago, I had a copy of Sketch up for free where I had saved a plan of my house. I don’t seem to be able to work on it in the new free web tool or import it to the web tool. Do I need to start it again or is there a way I can import the plan into the current version?
Sketch up 2017 has now stopped working for me. I tried to download again but sketchup just sends me to the web based application. Is there a way to import existing drawings so I can work on them, or do I have to bite the bullet and start again?
Perhaps we should back up a few steps.
Firstly you should be able to open your old skp files in the web version, one simple way is to use the insert button found under the folder icon top left of the screen.
Secondly, what do you mean 2017 stopped working? What happened? there is no normal reason for it to stop. Do you still have the original downloaded install file, probably in your Downloads folder?
many thanks for your help. Last time I opened Sketch up I could amend drawings. This time, I can only get the viewer or the web product (which doesn’t seem to have undo buttons or camera buttons). So I tried to download Sketch up 2017 Make 2017 again. All seemed ok, but I got the following
Following the process through, it asks to repair sketch up installation and then only takes me to the web version. I have scanned my computer to try to ensure there is no problem and AVG and Malwarebytes come up clean.
When I had no joy, I tried by deleting the downloads and starting again - still no joy. The good news is I can still see my old files in the sketchup viewer, just not amend them. Very grateful if you have any ideas
Have done this and managed to import an old file into the web version. Last 2 times it didn’t work, but this time it has. I seem to have been having problems with long running scripts all day. Anyway - your help has been invaluable as I have now managed to open it up in a working version. You have been outstanding, many thanks.
I don’t understand , clicking I Agree should open the Make desktop version, not the Web version.
You are agreeing to use make for non commercial purposes now that the 30 day trial has expired.
