20 years working with Sketchup & I’ve never imported a model from anywhere other than the warehouse!
Cant work out how to save/import a model from Turbosquid that will also work in D5 Render? I’ve purchased model so any help would be much appreciated…
What file format are the models you’ve downloaded?
Hi Dave. I can download in OBJ or FBX by the look of it but neither are importing into SU. I think I can download as many times as I want once purchased. I’m trying to import direct from downloads folder!
if I understand correctly, when you right click on them, you can’t open them in sketchup ?
that’s not importing, that’s opening with.
in order to import a file, first create a sketchup project, and in it, go to file / import and import the obj / fbx file.
edit : oh wait, I had export in mind, you can’t import these two natively.
you need an extension like that one

That’s what I’m doing but not showing up in folder?
sketchup can’t natively import any of them 
op should first install quadface tools extension in order to do that, for example

Universal importer opens both too.

there’s this website that I often use to convert weird 3D filetypes that I receive but the result’s not always great, I pasted the link for OBJ files
