Importing and scaling a 2D plan

I’m trying to scale a 2D drawing to my workspace and am not able to figure out what I’m doing wrong. I’m following the steps laid out in this video, specifically the portion from ~1:30 to ~2:10. The last part of that section of the video, where I type in what the measurement should be: when I get there, the field is not editable. I can highlight it, but can not edit it. What am I doing wrong? I am using the web browser version. I really think I’m doing everything right and am wondering if this is a bug. I have a screen recording of the process I’m going through if there’s a place I can share that.

I’ll add that I’m very new to SketchUp and this is my first post on the forums.

Do not try to edit the box or even click in the box, simply let go of the mouse, type what you want in space and hit enter/return.
You never click in the box.

Don’t try and click into the text box, just type and press enter.

You can drag a screen recording to the reply window, if it is too large you’ll need to use a file sharing service.

I would’ve sworn to you I had tried that, but just tried and it allowed me to edit. User error again I guess. Thank you. However, when I press enter, nothing happens. Any thoughts?

Two things to try:

The tape measure defaults to laying down a guide. He was using it in the non-guide mode. Try tapping the modifier key so that the cursor does not have the + attached to it. It will resize even when putting down a guide, but then you will probably want to delete the guide afterwards.

He was importing a PDF, if you have imported a DXF or DWG, it’s likely to come in as a component. Doing the steps as shown would resize the model, whereas you want to resize the 2D plan. Double-click to get into the component, then try the steps.

That did it! Thank you so much.
