I have a school acount. I use Sketchup for schools since 2024. Yestarday i tryied to log in but i got this message " It looks like you’re having trouble signing in. Make sure you’ve enabled pop-up windows for SketchUp, then complete sign in using the pop-up window that appears.
Please note: SketchUp for Schools is once again available for educational use only. Don’t worry, any projects that you may have created through your personal Gmail or Microsoft account can still be downloaded from your Google Drive or One Drive. To continue sketching, please log in with an EDU domain account."
I’ve been having the exact same problem, and I can’t get ahold of any support either. It was broken sometime between March 17th and March 31st. I’ll let you know if I hear anything from them.
Our students in our district can also not login to SketchUp for Schools through their Google credentials. Once their credentials are entered, SketchUp does not load, it just spins on the authorization page. This has been going on for a couple of days now. Any help would be appreciated.
Hi everyone, thanks for the posts. We pushed an update to fix a login bug that was affecting some users on the 25th. It is possible that some settings may have gotten changed and are affecting things on our end. I’ll go ahead and ask an expert and see what I can find out for you.
In the meantime, please make sure that you have all the permissions correct on the domain level and make sure that popups are enabled as well as third party cookies for our site on a user level. I’ll let you know as soon as I hear anything.
@Phani and @skrafft
Have you verified that you have popups enabled when logging into SketchUp for Schools? Our login flow does require the use of popups and of your browser is blocking them it may interrupt the completion of the login process.
My school has iPads, so they’re using Safari. We’re using an MDM where some of the students are not allowed to launch Safari - they can only access it through Google Classroom when we want them to, so they cannot change or access their popups or cookies settings. I tested enabling popups on a staff iPad and it seems to be working now, so I’m going to implement some kind of solution and see if that fixes all of them. Thank you.
Thank you for looking into this for us. Our pop-ups are enabled, our cookies are allowed, and we were successfully using Sketchup for Schools successfully for several years until this week. Please let me know if you have any further questions or insights into what may be happening.
That is very curious. If everything is allowed and you were using the app, then you should still be able to use it. I’ll ask an expert to take a look at the thread and see if she has any insights. In the meantime, can you let me know if you are using Google or Microsoft to deploy the app? I am guessing Google as you mentioned Chromebooks but I want to be sure.
