I have 2024 Pro on my old desktop. Now I want to add it to my new computer. I can’t seem to navigate online how to do it. If I understand it correctly I can use SU on 2 different computers though not at the same time. Is that correct?
If you still have the installer exe on the old computer, transfer it to the new one. If not, download a fresh copy from
Right-click the installer and choose “run as administrator”. Since the new installation won’t have visibility to the old one, you will need to restore your settings, templates, custom materials, and plugins manually. You can export shortcuts and then import them.

Thank you. I have done that and got it on my new computer. However it says I have exceeded my activations. The other older one is shut down. I need to get a file off the old machine into the new one. I tried emailing the file to myself but the file was too large. I tried putting it on an external hard drive but I can’t get past the exceeded activations message.
Since you still have the old computer, start by launching SketchUp on it and then signing out (click the little person in a circle icon at upper right). If that doesn’t clear the activation message, log on to “manage licensing” select your product, and deauthorize all.

I am now! Thank you. I was on my opening template page. I’ll just have to revisit this tomorrow and sort out this activation business as well.
