Hon Hon Hon - Call me Nab, Atelier was my father

I made / got these a while ago…

nice !

problem is, right now, if you want to share them, you either make a normal SKP file with squares of all the materials, or you manually upload each skm (and your materials appear in the material search)

with a bit of preparation, and a lot of copy/paste, I did about 3 per min.
I know that companies have access to a bulk upload, but I’m not a certified company on the warehouse

How did you colorize that lego figur? Did you print it in several colors or painted the yellow parts?

Reminded me of the youtube video where someone prints themselves out at a scale of 1 to 1

But maybe something like this one would be sufficient?

Tronxy Veho 1000-16 bigsize 3D-printer, printsize 1000x1000x1600mm$3,600.99

Incredible what is possible these days

adebeo hosts both ral and pantone as zip files :

RAL

PANTONE

When will this 3d print be ready? Just curious about the results

Oops? This member didn’t know those where only ment for Sages

that one I printed in different filament. I added the face with a sharpie.

the other (knight) I partially painted. the helmet was mate gold, like the arms, I painted it part black, part gold again, the sword got a wash or silver over grey print, and off course, the emblems were painted.

yep. but they’re not in the 3d warehouse material section. the place more and more people are looking into.

finding RAL or pantone materials is not hard, just google the number and you’ll get a RGB code.
and now they are in the warehouse as distinct materials

edit : also, they’re missing 19 RAL. they added a few since 2013

you know you can make one big message quoting several things, right ? :upside_down_face: :innocent:

  1. Nice job colorizing the figur

and

  1. Yes i know, but didn’t know i wanted to write a second, third, etc, reply while writing the first :innocent:

I don’t know if it is available elsewhere, but I use the https://www.e-paint.co.uk/ website to search for RGB values of various colour chart systems and for equivalents between them.

Those can be super helpfull idd!

I used to have a RAL and Pantone chart for physical items as well. These days, I do (too) much online and use this ColorPic(by iconico) tool, which displays RGB and HSV values for the selected (screen) color. It really helps my colorblind eyes determin the correct (HSV/RGB) color values

yeah, for a long time, I would just google RAL RGB to get a good code, or even use the eyedrop on a catalog page too.
I did the 'local) material collection after a couple of my trainees asked for RAL, that way I can just give it to them, and it gives me the occasion to show them how to add a collection.

the warehouse is just bonus for old users like us, but for ipad and new users (who learn the modern workflow, searching for PBR in the warehouse) it’s good.

in fact, over the years, I’ve seen many companies / account that would share a material as a simple file containing a tile. back then it was the way to do. But now, these accounts should take the time to extract the proper skm and reupload it, so people looking in the material tab can still find it.

So, I often have 2-3 versions of sketchup installed on my mac. 2017 is red, easy, and 2027 beta has the new neon green and purple icon — but shush, it’s a secret

25 and 26 have the same icon. same name.
Off course, whenever I install a new version, first thing I do is add the number version to the name. on mac it’s easy.

But now I also change the icon.

just open the image, select all / copy, then cmd-i on the application, click on the icon and cmd-v

on PC it’s not that simple.
But as I use my PC for training porpoises :dolphin:, I don’t have as many version on it.

yes, this is not a very useful message. but it’s not porpoise-less at least.

Like wise, still need SUM17, SUP22, SUP25 and SUP26 to keep my workflow going.

Also tried to change the icons to display the version number. But somehow they changed back to the original icon multiple times. Maybe due to reinstall- the program, an extension, an update, the weather, no clue.

So i went back to the icons on my dekstop that show the version number in the name:

yeah, any update brings back the standard icon on Mac, and on PC as well I suppose. overall it’s fine, since we don’t get that many updates per version

I’m in the middle of moving across the country, so I’m not printing / modelling much.

But I did a thing. My car’s dashboard had a hole, slightly too sort to put my phone or glasses.

So I made a drawer with a notch for the usb cable (for the added carplay thing) and space to put my phone.

The drawer only contains a pen and small sketchbook, but I’ll fill it with candy soon enough.

(This is the test print out of PLA, it won’t survive summer, to be tweaked and reprinted then )

Also I printed and assembled a thing. I’ll make better photos when I settle down.

Why not PLA? Will in melt in a hot car in summer?

A quick search found that PLA melts at 150-202C but softens at about 60C. So in a closed car in the summer it probably wouldn’t melt but would get soft and at risk of deforming.

Off topic. But why don’t cars come with candy holders? You may be onto something here…
