Does anyone know how to recover a file? I worked for around 12 hours on a file which had been open on my computer for several days. I have autosave enabled every 5 minutes. I have had autosave work well for me in the past. It always prompts on reopening the OG file asking if I want to open the newer file. This time it didn’t. I can’t find the file anywhere. Any help is greatly appreciated!!! Sketchup asked me to log in several times in the last hour or two of working. I have been having problems with it often logging me out. Not sure if this is related but I feel like no matter the case it should be autosaving locally. I also did not receive a bugsplat window. SU just suddenly disappeared with no warning and no explanation. I have looked everywhere for the autosave file and nothing has turned up.
On my Windows system, it seems SU’23 had this path for Autosave:
C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\SketchUp\SketchUp 2023\SketchUp\working\SKETCHUP\Autosave
and this path for Recovered files:
C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\SketchUp\SketchUp 2023\SketchUp\working\SKETCHUP\RecoveredFiles
For SU’24 I have neither of those. Does anyone know where those files are at? I always work locally and do not use Trimble Connect.
Note that autosave works only with files that have already been saved at least once. If you start a new file autosave works only after you have saved it.
It’s the same path.
I have been looking for this location. Any tips on how to find it?
Nevermind. Cut the last two destinations off and found it. I had been trying the full link copy and pasted yesterday with no success from an earlier post. Many thanks!! Found the lost file!
