Help Needed - Filling In Volume

Sketchup pros I was wondering if I could get some advice or assistance. I am still very new to using Sketchup for 3D drawings. I am having some issues trying to model a 3D leg for a table. It seems that I have 2 problems. I’ve attached pictures, and labeled.

1.) I don’t know how to get the curve to wrap around the corner.
2.) It’s not recognizing the volume of the flat curved face, and thus not filling it in. I can’t figure out why.

If you have any ideas on how to solve my dilemma, I’d greatly appreciate it!

Thank you so much! - Cody B

I would have started with a profile of half the thing at the back and a path of the perimeter edges on the sides and the front as a Follow Me path.

Or you could start with a large box with rounded corners and use Follow Me to remove the unwanted part.

@DaveR has it exactly right … so do him the favor of marking his post as a “Solution.”

But there is one caveat: To get the results you expect the profile for the “Follow Me” tool must be orthogonal to the “path.”

And this can be a problem if the path includes a curve. If you inadvertently locate the profile at a “corner” of the path you may not get the results you expected. This is not an issue in what you posted, because the path includes multiple long, straight lines.

Excellent, thank you for the help, I really appreciate it! I will give this a shot this evening and see if I can get it to work!

Thank you for the help! This is really helpful!

Another way of doing this. Click in sequence on the scenes tabs of this SU file for ideas.
