OMG! How did you do that? I can see my model!
What happened so I can know how to fix if that ever happens again…

2017 is the latest version of Make as Trimble decided to move free versions of SketchUp to the web.
Ah ok thanks
You managed to get the camera in a bad spot. I ran a little utility called SW Rescue My Model. Then I fixed your incorrect tag/layer usage and purged all the unused stuff from the model. You really need to get in the habit of cleaning up your models.
I would also suggest that you keep face orientation correct. All the blue faces are exposed back faces. There should be none visible in your model. Leaving them incorrectly oriented is going to cause you problems down the road.
So for free and on desktop, yeah you are
No problem
But how did Zoom Extents not work @DaveR? If it was solely a camera issue?
As Kaiden indicated, that’s the last free desktop version. From your model it looks like you are doing garden design for your business. If that’s the case you need to be using SketchUp Pro, not SketchUp Make.
DaveR you are a lifesaver! I can’t begin to thank you for your time in helping me with this!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH- I’ve been working with Sketchup on models for my clients for years but sounds like I need to do some more learning on this program so I really do appreciate your feedback and will look into all of this.
THANK YOU guys!!!
From the T&Cs
SketchUp Make Software is licensed only for non-commercial use for your internal business purposes. Non-commercial use means that you may not sell, rent, or lease the output of the Software. Any other use requires the purchase of a SketchUp Pro license. For example, if you are a for-profit organization of any kind, or an employee of a for-profit organization using the Software in that capacity, you are engaged in commercial activity; therefore, in order to use the Software, you must purchase a SketchUp Pro license. Government agencies are considered to be commercial users and must purchase a SketchUp Pro license.
You’re quite welcome.
As I wrote, you need to be using SketchUp Pro, not Make. Make is not for commercial use.
From what I see in your model, there are some fundamentals that you could really stand to learn. You could start with learn.sketchup.com
I’ve found that really helpful and it’s gave me so much more knowledge on SU.
Highly recommend
If the camera is sufficiently messed up (e.g. located very far from the model) zoom extents isn’t always able to fix it. The script Dave mentioned uses stronger methods via the Ruby API.
Ah OK.
Thanks Steve
Thank you all once again! I will look into the Pro version and some more tutorials for sure, sounds good!
Will do. My clients purchase the CAD plans- I use sketchup to show the concept but they don’t recieve these drawings. Still will definitely look into the pro version immediately.
Thanks

Since you’re using SketchUp for the work you do for clients, you need Pro. It’s pretty cut and dried.
Sounds good thanks! will get the PRO version!
Can I upgrade the one I’m working off of online? Or do I buy Pro separately? And will I still be able to open old models in the new Pro version?
