glTF exporting moves axis

I’ve been trying to export some models to .glb formats and axis in the model seems to be relocating itself. I set the axis in my model and export, but when I re-import the file, or if the person I am working with opens it in Blender, the axis is in a new location. Any tips?

This is the file with the axis location before exporting:

And this is how it imports:

Have you made sure that the model created in SketchUp is correct? Scale, axes, etc…

Thanks for looking at this mihai.s, As far as I know the model is correct, but mabye I am not looking in the right places. In my images you see the axis changes. I would expect the origin would be right where I put the crosshairs with the axis tool, but for some reason it shifts. This is the skp file if you’d like to try it:

Shelf-3slot-24x3x4-Natural.skp (129.6 KB)

Reset the axes and move the object to the origin (0,0,0) and position it where you want the axes to be.

No it does not shift. You cannot change the model (world) origin.

The Axes tool only sets the (user) drawing origin and axes. This is comparable to AutoCAD’s User Coordinate System.

When SketchUp starts a new model the default drawing axes position will be set to the model origin.

Thanks for your help Dan and mihai.s, it looks like my issue was not understanding that the default axis in the model never changes despite it appearing to when you use the axes tool. Problem solved.

Why are the model axes moved from their default location in your model?

I am exporting a bunch of models to use in another application and I needed to put the axis at a specific location on each model. I was using the axes tool to do to set the axis in the new location, but, as I learned, I needed to be moving my model to the original drawing axis as that never really moves.
