Hi. I have an AMD Radeon Graphics Card. The driver is up to date. Settings are as per below and have tried multiple options of turning settings on and off, using default GPU or designated AMD Radeon Graphics. Its frustrating that the glass opacity only works if you change to the Classic Graphics Engine. I saw this topic a while ago. Just wondering if there have been any developments since 2024?
It is not a SketchUp problem. It is a Radeon graphics driver bug. It seems AMD has corrected the bug in OpenGL support but not in DirectX.
Hi Ansii, thanks for your comments. Yes it does work on a colleauges computer who has a different driver. Its a shame because you cant use the new features like Environments and Material Textures. I am a bit of a lay person so dont really understand Open GL or DirectX. I guess there’s nothing I can do about it unless AMD Radeon do somehting about it.
If you go to the preference panel, under « graphics », openGL is the classic engine, and directx12 is the new one.
This mean that you’ll get better results using the classic one, until the fix their driver ![]()
