I am trying to download the free version onto a set of classroom laptops. How can I do this without having to use my own account? Or do I have to download each copy through my account?
The downloaded installer is not tied in any way to your account. You can copy and run it on any computer.
You need an account to log on to the 3D Warehouse or Extension Warehouse, but that is independent of getting and installing SketchUp itself. Also, if you are planning to use Pro you need a license for it. You can contact Trimble sales to find out about educational licenses for Pro.
Can you send me a link for the installer? Maybe I was in the wrong place. I was being asked to fill in a bunch of info and set up an account. So you can download without an account (no info)?
I have to “tell them a bit about myself” and put in an email address etc.
SketchUp Products Downloads lists all the available SketchUp software downloads.
Why is there that page and the one I saw? Does anyone know the difference?
The page shared by @VahePaulman includes older discontinued versions for people who need to reinstall SketchUp.
So what’s this:
That’s the official front door download, where Trimble collect information about you like just about every other software.
It helps them with marketing etc
I could not get the program to install correctly on one of my laptops. I get the message "Installing Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.2 (x86 and x64). It just tries over and over. I have tried different browsers as well. Can someone tell me what’s going on?
