In the scene manager, when I check the display tag from OFF to ON, it freezes.
I am using MacOS though,
I have been suffering from this problem since a long time ago (2022?).
Basically, I try not to use it, but I really need to update the scene, and this time I am running into this problem again.
I am hoping this one will be improved.
Does anyone else have a similar problem?
So, when you uncheck and recheck one of the items the scene will be updated and that takes a little time, especially to redraw the Thumbnails. During that time you can’t do anything else. When I do this I see a progress bar like this:
It takes a couple of seconds. But when you say it “freezes” that sounds like it is taking longer in your case. I wonder if you are working with a very large file?
I’m on:
MacOS sequoia 15.0
Sketchup Pro 24.0.554
MacBook Pro 14" 2021 (and Mac Pro 2019)
The data is not particularly significant.
I am doing general work and have encountered this phenomenon for a long time. As soon as I check a tag, as shown on the screen, it turns into a rainbow cursor and becomes inoperable…
It is a repeated force close.
I don’t think there is anything wrong with the data handled.
The only “help” I can offer is to say that I am not getting this and I am working on Macs. Sometimes the Scenes take a moment or two to update but this doesn’t lead to a crash. These problems can be very hard to diagnose - and it is especially strange as you say you have had this behaviour for years and on more than one Mac.
Thank you for contacting us.
We understand that you are not experiencing any problems.
That may indeed be odd, as it is something I had hoped to see improved at some point.
We will work it out as the time comes for another update.
