Hi! Please help! So the finishes with transparency in my model are glitching when overlapping with a second finish with transparency. I dont know how to solve this. Please see image attached. TIA!
Please complete your forum profile with the actual macOS version and graphics you are using (you can get the details by clicking the Apple icon at upper left on your screen and choosing “About this Mac”). What you shows seems like a graphics glitch, so this info will help us to help you.
Thanks! I have a MacBook Pro Chip M3 8GB
And SketchUp 2024? Which graphics engine are you using?
Version 24.0.483
The current SU versiom is 24.0.554. You could try downloading the installer. There may be a bug fix. Also, there have been some glitches with M3 and SU 2024. Generally setting antialiasing to 0x and sometimes reverting to the classic graphics engine provide workarounds. Also, as requested, what version of macOS are you running. That too could matter.
Although I can’t see it singled out in the 2024.0.1 release notes, I did try in an earlier 2024, and could see the problem. In 2024.0.1 the problem doesn’t happen.
Actually, this entry in the release notes covers the bigger issue:
- (Mac) Working on demanding models on Apple Silicon Macs while using the new graphics engine with antialiasing set to no more than 0x no longer shows the scene as black or prevents updates in the scene.
I think that should have said “set to more than 0x”. The main symptom was that the scene would stop updating. The flickering transparent areas was a lesser symptom.
thank you! this work! I would have never guess this!
