hello, i just received this message trying to open a file that was working perfectly, this model failed file integrity checks and cannot be opened, can someone help me please, ive been working non stop and need to deliver this
Maybe we can help you if you share the .skp file with us.
What operating system are you using? “16GB” is not an operating system. Presumably it’s some version of Windows. Did you try renaming and opening the .skb backup file?
Hi Dave, im not used to how forums work, that’s why i posted so many sorry, im trying to get to the .skp file, the thing is that it is saved in trimble connect and i have not idea how to get it form there. thank you for your time, i truly appreciate it
ITs a windows pc
In SketchUp, go to File>Trimble Connect, Launch Trimble Connect. Find the file and download it to your computer. Then drag the file into a reply here. If it’s larger than 16 Mb upload it to DropBox or We Transfer and share the link.
While you’re looking at the file in Trimble Connect you could also check to see if there’s an earlier version that will open. Each time you save your file to Trimble Connect it creates an incremental save.
Is there any chance you were also saving the file to your internal drive? I would suggest that you do both so you have copies of the file in two places. If your internet connection to the Trimble Connect server fails you would at least have a copy saved on your internal drive.
Please update your forum profile. When that information is accurate it helps us help you.
thank you so much, ill send the file now, i was thinking i was saving it to my computer as well, but just a very incompleted version.
ok sure will
There it is, thank you
Just wanted to let you know I was able to open a trimble saved with no problem, its working perfect, i don’t even think i have to incorporate anything else, i don’t know how to thank you but I am forever grateful to you. I have one lat question, how can we avoid this? should i update to 2025 if that version is available? thank you!!!
I was able to open your file in SketchUp 2025. You might try opening the file your downloaded to your computer. Or upgrade to SketchUp 2025 and then open it. There is a bed material in the file but SU2025 gets around it.
I went through your model and did my standard cleanup procedure while I had it open. First I fixed incorrect tag usage.
Then I purged unused content.
No need to be hoarding all those unused components and materials.
I also looked at the sizes of the remaining materials. There are quite a few that are excessively large for the way they are used in the model.
The cleanup I did reduced the file by about 63%.
Seems to me that a bunch of the book cover materials could be replaced with simple colors which would make rendering views of the model faster.
See if you can open the file. If not I’ll send back this one.
The file you posted can be opened using SketchUp 2025. It has some errors that earlier versions cannot fix.
BTW, purging the file and reducing oversized texture image files shaves off about 2/3 of the file size.
@DaveR always beats me to it!
Thank you so much! I was able to open it, but i should dowload the 2025 version right?
Thank you Anssi! ill upgrade the version right away!
You certainly could install SketchUp 2025. There are new features that you might find useful. Each major release of SketchUp installs as a separate program so you can leave 2024 installed and continue working on the file until you are ready to switch over.
If you are going to install it make sure you right click on the installer after you download it and choose Run as administrator.
Yes! You got amazing advice, thank you!
