Hi everyone, I am looking for some help to see if my file can be repaired. Last night, I was working on a large model and clicked save. Within about 5 seconds of hitting save, my power completely cut out and my PC abruptly shut down. Now, the file will not open at all. Neither the original .skp file nor the .skb backup file will open (even after changing the backup extension to .skp).The file size still shows as 135 MB, so I am hoping the data isn’t completely gone. I tried importing it into a blank SketchUp file and pulling it into the Components tray, but it won’t load. Could someone (or @Colin) please take a look at the file to see if the file header can be fixed, or check if it is unfortunately just filled with NULL bytes? Here is the download link to my file:https://drive.google.com/file/d/17l8iytjwnMFp6s0z29EKXTflXjiIF2Qt/view?usp=sharing Thank you so much in advance for your time and help!
I found the files. The .skp file is nothing but zeroes.
The .skb backup file has a beginning but is about 95% zeroes.
Nothing to recover from either file.
Since you have a current Pro subscription you should be utilizing Trimble Connect to save backup copies of your models so you have them saved on the local internal drive and elsewhere. Each time you save the model to Trimble Connect it creates an incremental save so you have the possibility of going to an earlier version if the latest becomes corrupted.
