Feature mapping table from SketchUp to IFC

Hi everyone.

Is there any feature mapping table from SketchUP to IFC being developed? The illustration below is the example of mapping table from Revit to IFC. I am looking for the one which specific from SketchUp to IFC. :grinning:

Thank you!

In SketchUp it is you who classifies the components because there are no tools that really draw walls or windows so it is not possible to establish a relationship between what you draw and an IFC classification.

Yes, there is. My extension 5D+ Plus is have a function to assign IFC class of tagged object automatically based on mapping rules from an Excel file. Then it is auto create groups for model follow IFC hierarchies and ready for IFC export. You can try a free trial for 30 days via Subscription.

Dear @Cyentruk ,

Thank you for your suggestion! 5D+ Plus is an excellent extension for commercial SketchUp. However, our company is currently exploring the use of SketchUp 2024 and will not be purchasing SketchUp Pro in the near future.

With reference to your VBO tags to IFC entities mapping table, many of the IFC entities are not included in the IFC4 entity pulldown menu. May I know if I can create the additional IFC entity in SketchUp 2024?

The ifc4.skc is basically a zipped file with schema’s and xml files.
It holds the complete schema from buildingSMART.
It also holds a filter xml that filters the 27 or so categories that you see. (One can easily neglect the filter in the classification toolbar)

Thank you!
I think you are referring to this pulldown menu in the toolbar. :grinning:

Hello,
To get new IFC Classes than IFC4 SketchUp 2024 has shipped, you can manually download the latest (IFC4x3_ADD2.sxd) from here: IFC Schema Specifications - buildingSMART Technical, the sxd file, then go to this to add it to the model.

I heard somewhere said SketchUp 2025 support IFC4x3.

Yes, although your dropdown menu is from Ifc Manager plugin. If you don’t find your required class there you should use the native one as @MikeWayzovski says
