My SketchUp Extension Warehouse submission (Easy Bake Tool Pro v2.0.0) was denied with the message:
“Please provide a license if you want your extension to be tested.”
My extension is a paid version that requires email-based license verification to unlock features.
I already replied to the review email with a test email/license for reviewer access, but I am not sure if that is the correct process.
What is the recommended way to provide reviewer access for paid extensions?
Should I resubmit the extension and include reviewer credentials/test instructions in the submission notes?
What you gave in the submission should be ok, but I did try it, and entering the example email doesn’t give you a chance to enter the license code. You may need to give the person who will do the review more instructions on how to enter the license.
I have completed a full resubmission for review. I’ve also included detailed testing instructions and provided a test email/license for accessing the Pro features. Please check the updated submission when possible. Thank you.
If an extension isn’t free/open to use, please include logon credentials in the tester instructions field. The exception is if you sell it directly in Extension Warehouse, if so we can generate our own temporary licenses.
Especially with the huge increase in submissions due to AI we can’t really contact and ask for licenses individually. It’s a bit like the garbage bin needing to be ready at the curb with the opening facing the street when the garbage truck arrives.
We should look into tweaking the phrasing of the review page to make this clearer.
Thank you for the clarification and for taking the time to test the extension.
I found the issue and have made the necessary changes to the license verification workflow. I have also updated the testing instructions and re-uploaded a new RBZ version for review.
The updated submission includes reviewer access details and should now allow successful activation of the Pro features during testing.
I appreciate your help and look forward to your feedback. Thank you.
Please uninstall the old EasyBake version / old RBZ first, restart SketchUp, then install the newly uploaded RBZ.
We reviewed the licensing flow and found that SketchUp can keep extension preferences even after uninstalling, so an old saved license email could remain and skip the activation screen. This is now fixed by detecting a fresh install and clearing saved license state when needed.
We also added Logout, Reset License, and Refresh License options, improved activation messages, separated purchaser/reviewer access, fixed Google sign-in token decoding, and rebuilt the RBZ.
After installing, open EasyBake Pro, activate with the correct email, and test Bake Selected from the EasyBake UI.
I don’t review extension submissions, but at least it now works, and whoever does review the extension won’t have to decline it because of the license not working.
Thanks for your help, Colin. I appreciate you taking the time to look into it and helping identify the license issue. I’ve submitted the updated version and will wait for the review process.
