Did you check the audit report file to know more ?
Thanks for the reply I did check it and all that is coming up is the letter A
What is it that you actually need from the model? Are you trying to make a 3D DWG or DXF or are you trying to make a 2D export?
Try this…
part.dwg (3.1 MB)
What did you do differently this is a ongoing problem I am having thanks
I got a similar error with SU so I used a 3rd party program

I wonder if the troubles with the export have anything to do with the modeling. I did notice a number of modeling issues from lack of precision to incorrect group nesting to badly formed geometry in the screws and knob. I was curious about that so I created a new model from scratch. I was able to export a .dwg from SketchUp with no errors.
All components are solid objects. I increased Display Precision so I could hit dimensions you have in your model. I did take a couple of liberties. I modeled those “loops” at the top with rounded corners thinking that would be easier to make from metal rod. I also eliminated the hex nut on the outside of the knob since the knob has a threaded insert, I figured one hex nut to lock it would be plenty.
This is in LayOut.
I tried it again at this office this morning using the free SKP import utility in AutoCAD. No errors when opening the original SU file.
Despite the error report, the DWG I get seems to be OK. I also figured like @DaveR that they might be a result of the group nesting and naming but even after exploding everything the errors persisted.
@colin, Could the developers perhaps take a look?
Thank you for the reply
I spent a while looking at the file, and it looks like the export to DWG checks out unused components in the model. If you have a component that has issues, but isn’t in the scene, you get a good export, but a complaint as well.
I took that model and narrowed it down to one of the components that has a problem. See if you can tell what is wrong with this nut.

Interesting thing, I tried the same export on the latest internal build, and the error doesn’t happen. I will check if something was fixed recently.
Component was scaled without scaling the definition.
When I opened it:
After resetting the scale.
Also the surfaces in the object aren’t joined. Note how triple clicking with the Select tool only selects some of the geometry and not all.
Seems typical of an object that was modeled in some other application and imported into SketchUp.
I only get a “No errors” export if I explode everything down to raw geometry and purge all before exporting. So the bad component must be one in the model as initial purging doesn’t help. Component scaling in itself shouldn’t be an issue.
Yes, and a lot of the objects in the original model have SimLab in the name.
Smells like they are coming from Solidworks. I don’t know how that works, but probably the meshing is carried out by the Simlab importer.
We have recently fixed what appears to be the same bug. As you say, the export does succeed so this is not a blocker, therefore it’s probably not going to be released until 2025.1 goes out (no time soon, sorry!).
With my limited experience I see nothing wrong with the nut it looks like a 3D nut. Kindly share what is wrong and what to look for to find errors.
The bug that is fixed internally suggests it’s something to do with groups. Remaking the group seems to fix the problem.
