Exceeded Allowed Activations?

SU updated itself today and now it will not open. “You have exceeded your allowed activations”
What?? I press Manage Activations and everything look fine. I do not have Classic License. I have stuff to do. I do not want to go down another rabbit hole!

Have you followed this Help Center Article Deauthorize Devices?

SketchUp doesn’t do that by itself..

Still have the same problem. I followed that Help Center Article [Deauthorize Devices] and Deauthorized all devices. Tried it 4 times! No help. Same message.

So again: Can anybody help with this problem?

I just started having the same problem — in addition to very frequent crashes — and following the recommended instructions has not solved the problem. I need immediate help.

If you had previously been using SketchUp 2024, and now you are opening SketchUp 2025 and seeing that message, open SketchUp 2024 again. Once you are on the welcome screen click on your avatar, or the Help menu, and Sign Out.

After signing out, quit SketchUp 2024.

Open SketchUp 2025 and sign out in the same way, but don’t quit SketchUp this time. Instead, sign in again. Does that clear the message?

Press the windows key + r

Paste this in
%appdata%/SketchUp/Sketchup 2025
(change the year if you are using another one)

Pres ok and it will take you to the folder

Delete the webcache folder
Then go into the “SketchUp” Folder and delete “Login_session.dat”*
*Start SketchUp again and sign back in

I did have a file that opened in the 2024 version yesterday. I signed out from SketchUp and Layout 2024 but still got the too many computers message. Only after signing out from the 2025 welcome screen (and not from the help menu) did we resolve the problem. Thanks to my son who ultimately got this right.
