Usually, when a file get’s corrupted there isn’t much that can be repaired. SketchUp files might still hold internal libraries (components/materials/styles) but you still have to create the scene or model itself.
LayOut files are actually zipped archives that hold all resources and references.
Changing the .layout extension into .zip (or other packaging extension) might give you a chance to open it.
(My system does fail, though, when trying to unpack)
Your best shot is to check the backups or versions located at the used drive or synchronising software.

Here’s some logic to it that one might not like:
If you do care about your project and it’s data, it is best to make sure you have a backup system.
If not, it doesn’t matter to start over or a new.

I did already try the unzip idea Mike mentioned, but that didn’t fix the file. I’m going through the SketchUp files inside the document to see if one of them is corrupted.

There is something that seems odd about the ones I have looked at so far. They have the same set of 10 scenes, but with mostly different geometry showing. I think that could happen if you directly copied and pasted objects from SketchUp into LayOut. Doing that would lead to there being a whole new copy of the full SKP in the LayOut document. I have tried some purging to try to reduce the size of the files, but SketchUp gets locked up.

The SKPs add up to 4.3 GB of space, which does give me a new idea to try. Working on that now.

I didn’t yet succeed.

@trent would it be possible for you to look at the file as well?

Estou com o mesmo erro ao tentar abrir um arquivo, tentei o passo a passo de mudar para .zip etc mas não deu certo, alguém conseguiu recuperar arquivos com esse mesmo erro?

trelica.layout (15.3 MB)

There are no problems in opening that file. Was something not working for you?

I had similar problem before and now I was able to solve it by clearing some space in my Drive. This problem can be caused by saving and publishing without a drive space. I usually keep my layout files on my Drive C and my other files on my external drives. I make sure that there is still space for my Drive C for my .layout file to be able to create a new set of saved files.

Hello
My Layout file is not opening and this image message appears.
Can anyone help me?

Download it to a folder on your computer and see if you can open it then. It’s not a good idea to work on files saved directly to the cloud.

Also share the file with us so we can see if it needs some correction.

Is the SketchUp version you are using cr acked?

I downloaded it but it didn’t open. My version is the original classic.https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1leoSPqXeeU4DuoN_8ibByd-BYQVxZ1hu?usp=drive_link

I get an Access Denied message. You need to make the file accessible.

Also look in the One Drive folder where you’ve been saving the file for the backup copy and share it.

2.24 Gb! It’s no wonder it won’t open from the cloud location.
