When you’re done, will there still be room left there for you…???

Excellent question!

This layout is designed for compact storage and intended to be brought to train shows and exhibitions, not permanently be set up at home.

It’s been a pain but all bridge spans are painted now :face_exhaling:. Also got the base on the pillars, but planning to introduce some color variation between the vertical levels to make it look more like cast concrete. That’s probably gonna wait until the pylons are assembled though so u can paint all in parallel.

I have always suspected that I might be entirely fictional. Time for my fictional Friday afternoon coffee.

Realized I haven’t shared the story about the biked.

Damaged by my architecture studies, I’ve grown fond of concrete. For Christmas 2019 I designed a d built this concrete bike for my dad who was an avid collector of km on the road on his bikes.

The model is designed in SketchUp, printed on paper, glued onto paper yoghurt packages, cut apart, taped together and filled with concrete.

And the finished bike. Was on display in my dad’s living room for the rest of his life.

That’s a very Paul Rudolph looking bike.

I visited Yale for grad school but decided to stay in NYC. It was a cool building to get a tour of… would have been fun to have a studio there.

Well, when DOCOMOMO came to New Haven for their 2023 annual conference, I went on a nice guided tour of the building and posted a gallery of photos here.

Yes, New Haven has a lot of brutalist buildings. I didn’t even apply to Yale as it was too close to home.

Nice. I will look at the images on the big screen.

I grew up in Cleveland and at the time I was thinking of grad school I was in NYC as part of a studio exchange (sculpture). I had references for Yale from the artists I was working as an assistant for as well as for Columbia. I liked NYC too much to head to New Haven for school…
