Eneroth Extensions FAQ

I paid for an extension. Where is the RBZ file?

When purchasing an extension from the Extension Warehouse there is no direct access to the RBZ file. You need to open Extension Warehouse inside of SketchUp, browse to the extension again and hit install. Even if I manually sent you an RBZ file you wouldn’t be able to use it. The extension license gets generated and activated when installing from Extension Warehouse and cannot be manually activated.

I’m sorry if this is confusing but there is nothing I can do about it. For further questions on how to install from Extension Warehouse, please contact SketchUp support.

I paid for an extension but Extension Warehouse has been disabled for my SketchUp version!

SketchUp has a policy to continuously disable Extension Warehouse for older SketchUp versions. This includes users with a valid legal perpetual SketchUp license.

I’m sorry if this is frustrating but I’m not in charge of this policy and can’t help you with it. If you can’t update SketchUp you can contact sketchup support for a refund on the extension. (And no, I cannot personally make a refund)

I have paid for an extension but can no longer install it

Make sure you are signed in with the same account as when you first bought the extension.

If your licensing seats have run out you can contact SketchUp support to have more seats added. (I think the design intent was that seats are freed up when uninstalling the extension from older SketchUp installs you no longer use, but I don’t know if that has ever actually worked)

My payment card isn’t accepted

I made the extension, not the website you are trying to buy it from. For issues with the SketchUp Extension Warehouse website, please contact SketchUp support directly.

Do you accept PayPal?

SketchUp Extension Warehouse does not support PayPal.

I made the extension, not the website you are trying to buy it from. For suggestions regarding the SketchUp Extension Warehouse website, please contact SketchUp support directly.

I have some other issue with the website or purchasing

I made the extension, not the website you are trying to get it from. For issues regarding the SketchUp Extension Warehouse website, please contact SketchUp support directly.

Can I transfer my license to a different email?

I think so but contact SketchUp support about it. Extension developers don’t have this access.

Do you sell your extensions on a different website?

No. I make the extensions I need for my own modeling workflow and then sell some of them on the side of my main job. I do not have the time or energy for setting up a separate store.

F*** off

I can’t use an extension because it is “unsigned”

Some of my extensions were not signed when uploaded to the Extension Warehouse. To load them anyway, you can go to Windows > Extension Manger > Settings and set the Loading Policy to unrestricted.

Hypothetically I could resubmit these extensions for them to be signed, but it would trigger an update notification for hundreds of thousands of users even if there are no changes to the extensions and would risk just causing more confusion.

The toolbar button in Eneroth Slicer is disabled

Sorry, my bad. This extension needs a Section Plane to be selected before it can be used. For invalid selections I’ve disabled the command but really I should have provided an error message instead. Hopefully will get to it at some point.

Most of this ought to be a generic FAQ for all paid extensions hosted on the Warehouse.

For “Windows > Extension Manger > Settings”, recent versions of SketchUp have that at “Extensions/Extensions Manager”. In both cases Settings is the gear icon in the upper right.

Is is possible for a paid extension to be transferred by Support, to another email address. Ideally you would request that from the email address that currently owns the entitlement. I am not sure what Support’s policy is with regard to requests from people who either have never paid for SketchUp, or have not been under any support for a long time.

Hello,
is there a way to get older versions of a plugin (namely Eneroth Face Creator and eneroth upright extruder) that would work with sketchup 2018? If yes - how. Or if someone else keeps a copy of these, please share… Thanks!

Have you tried these with SU2018? I don’t have SU2018 installed, but looking at the code of the extensions, I don’t really see any reason why they wouldn’t run in 2018.

We are not allowed to publish other developer’s extensions.

These ancient extensions should work back to SketchUp 6 and 7.

That isn’t always clear, for instance Upright Extruder is listed as compatable just down to SketchUp 2020 on the Extension Warehouse…

Dear Eneroth,

Well, I take exception to so called “incomprehensible nonsense”. Your extensions levitate the juxtaposition of the synergy that is our collective dynamic. Without your wisdom (aka F*** off) and community focused flux capacitance, many would wander into the attractive oasis that is nihilism. So I say thank you and a very Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays to you and yours.

Best Regards,

Not Really Chip Cookie.

Funny, I have an uncle that writes like that, he is a bipolar poet and whenever I get a text from him, I end up puzzled, not knowing what he meant.

keep in mind we don’t have access to your brain. and for many of us, english is a second or third language.

Don’t you understand, this is all about Mary and Christmas & how synerged them by flux capacitor. :innocent:

Personally I like the phrase: “keep in mind we don’t have access to your brain”.

And for most that is not a bad thing at all.

Basically: Thanks Eneroth for your hard work, here is a bit of extreme absurdity that might make you chuckle. As my brother says “Tom, you are not always funny.”

In English a “tongue in cheek” statement generally means something is intended to be humorous, ironic, or not taken seriously. It often involves a playful, sarcastic tone. Think of it as a more subtle, witty way to say “just kidding” or to indicate that the comment shouldn’t be interpreted literally.

In French … it might be “ironique” or “au second degré.”

Hi Julia, I can see this is getting very tiresome for you, so I am sorry. Hopefullly you will reply. I have quite a few of your paid extensions on my 2021 pro licence and I do not intend to upgrade just to get access to the extension warehouse. Can I ask why your extensions cannot be downloaded from the extension warehouse. To be honest I am over the internet security risk and older version support policy, and it is just becoming more and more difficult when we could just simply download, backup and maintain our paid extensions if made available.

thing is, it’s not Eneroth’s doing.

it’s the way the extension warehouse is set up. using a browser, you can download any free extension, regardless of your SU version.
Extensions that are licenced through the extension warehouse need to be accessed through sketchup’s onboard browser. and yes, th one in SU 21 is not supported anymore. it’s not even a security risk, it’s simply running a chromium version that is considered obsolete by pretty much EVERYTHING on the web.
Netflix, amazon have a 2 year support. sketchup has a 3-4 year support. but at some point they need to update the techs they use on their websites.

I tried some Eneroth3 extensions, and they seem to download ok. What are some examples that don’t download?

You can use a web browser to download the extension, you can add them into SketchUp with Extension Manager.

Thanks Colin, the one I was trying to download was Eneroth Relative Copy from my downloads. I do not have the option to download, instead it says, “Ready to Install” and if I hover over that it says I need to reopen the page inside sketchup. This is the case with all my paid extensions. I am trying to setup my laptop where I have multiple activations on licenses. I also see that I have plugins spread over 3 trimble ID’s over the years. I did request to shift all my plugins to my current ID which I thought had been done
