I’ve spent several hours on this and I’m not getting anywhere with my searches. I have a copy of Sketchup Make 2017 on my computer. I also use Sketchup Web (free version), largely so I can access the Warehouse which is no longer available on Make. I have many files saved on Trimble Connect. I thought I had all my Trimble files downloaded as Sketchup2017 files prior to Trimble removing this function. I have unfortunately discovered several this week that I missed. I want to download my models in a usable format. Or be able to convert them in some way. I can’t justify the expense of Sketchup Pro just to download a dozen or so models (I’m a hobbyist), but I’d hate to lose all those hours of work. That said, I’m not even sure renting Pro would give me access to my files in Make. Just in Pro for the brief period of time I was renting the software from Trimble, right? I’m not clear on this.
I’ve looked into online free converters but I didn’t see that they could convert to a file format I can use in Make. I read in a forum thread that there were some extensions that could convert newer file formats into older formats, but Trimble has blocked users with Make from the Extension Warehouse. Perhaps I’m using the wrong search terms, but I’m not finding much about this issue here in the forums. Apologies if I’m missing a topic that’s already been discussed extensively! Or maybe I’m being a bonehead and missing something super obvious?
Open SketchUp Free and download .stl format files to your computer. Then use the .stl importer extension from the Extension Warehouse to import them into SU2017. Alternatively you can try the open Newer Version extension also from the Extension Warehouse to import your 2023 version .skp files into SU2017.
No. You’re not missing something. SketchUp 2017 no longer has direct access to the Extension Warehouse. Go to the Warehouse in your internet browser and download the extensions. Then install them manually.

Oh contraire! I was missing the fact that I can access the Extension Warehouse in a browser Thank you so much for your help! I’ll give that a shot.
