i have asked this before but have just paid $170 thinking that this problem would go away
when i pull a guideline and want to set the distance, i enter the value… but then the guideline disappears, same happens when i use the push pull function… i set a value and then nothing happens…. it must be some kind of setting and i have not been able to find it
please do not tell me just to pull a guideline and set the value because it does not work… i have used ketchup for the last 15 years and know what it is supposed to do
if nobody knows what the problem is, is there such a thing as a full reset? i have gone through every part of the menu, but can not find what the error is
it was working fine half a year ago… have not changed my computer… when i open my account on my wife’s computer it does the same thing … then when i open an account for my wife it is ok both on her computer and mine … so it must be related to my account settings… working on a relatively new mac air everything is upgraded… thanks for looking into this it is very frustrating as i can not do anything with it as i work with precise measurements…
i drag a guideline, i type in my value/measure press ENTER and the guideline does not go to that value … if there are other guidelines in the project they all disappear
The thing I find frustrating about this thread is your lack of information. Your forum profile, which is what we use to understand what tools you have, is basically offensive. At best just obstructive. You have said Free Plan and OS. But then you have alluded to spending money to get an answer, so have you upgraded to a Non FREEPLAN and perhaps an actual operating system which is what OS means. Yes obviously you have an operating system but which one is it?
It’s really pretty simple ‘Win’ or ‘Mac’ in it’s most basic form would at least give us an idea. Some more details could help but at least with these we can tell you about different shortcut keys and differences in toolbars etc
And then no visuals of your issue, which is pretty much the same one you had last year.
Will you make any effort to fill in your profile so that we may have some concept of where your video is coming from.
I must admit at the moment, having read all your posts on the forum, I’m feeling pilot error.

i have been working with sketchup for the last 15 or so years
since they went from a free app to payed, i have not used it very much, but now i need it to do some design work
at home i have a dedicated sketch up mac that does not go online, it has an old program from 8 years ago that works perfectly well for my needs, but now i am traveling and rely on the web based version and i am in desperate need to get this sorted
a couple of days ago i tried the web based version again and the same problem occurred from last year… i thought i needed a $170 (€150) upgrade, which i payed, i thought that would set me up with new parameters, but it uses the same account and the problem persists with all of my files
again, i do appreciate all of your efforts to look into this minor, but baffling issue
Your profile or account have nothing to do with this problem. Post the problem file, it’s probably the only way to get some help. I don’t use guide lines, but… What happens if you save after making a new guide line, I know they disappear, but save anyways and reboot sketchup. Does the new line show up on reload of the file?

What browser are you using ? Safari ?
Have you tried another browser ?
In sketchup’s preference, do you have the choice to revert to the older engine ?
It’s not account related. You don’t get guide lines just because you paid. Since you’re using the browser version it’s likely browser related.
if it not the account, why does it happen with each file, either a new one or an old one, on safari or chrome
when i put some guidelines and close the program and re-open it, the guidelines are there but again i can not put a value for any other guidelines, when i do all guidelines disappear, the push/pull function does not work either
