I have pro 2022 and cannot find the default tray to use dashed lines (ghost lines).

That’s part of the Tags panel. Your profile isn’t clear but seems to imply you are using a Mac. If that’s correct, there is no default tray in SketchUp. Just open the Tags panel from the Window menu. You can give tags to groups and components in your model and set up the tag to show the edges within those groups or components with dashes.
