Datasmith Exporter Plugin for Sketchup 2026 not available

I recentlu updated my Sketchup Pro to 2026 version, and when trying to install the Datasmith Exporter Plugin to take my models to Unreal Engine, I receive a message saying that there is no Sketchup version to support this plugin.

Is the Datasmith Exporter Plugin for Sketchup Pro 2026 not ready yet? When is it going to be released?

If not, which other way to export my model to Unreal Engine?

Thanks guys!

You should contact the developers about that.

You’re on the wrong forum, sketchup or Trimble don’t have anything to do with plugins from other companies like Epic Games, I don’t know if they received a beta version of the software so they could work on their plugin but it’s always been this way with the datasmith plugin, it usually is released halfway through the latest version.

Here’s the link to their forums, there are already some threads asking for an update to the plugin. Epic Developer Community Forums

I don’t use unreal engine but on Twinmotion you can directly import a sketchup model, you can probably do the same from unreal since Twinmotion is a lighter version of unreal engine. If it’s not possible you can import from Twinmotion and from there send it to unreal.

https://www.twinmotion.com/en-US/plugins/sketchup-pro on the website it says 2025, but when you actually start the installer, it also lists 2026. This is a recent update.

no, it’s for Twinmotion 2025. but also sketchup 2026. =)

it’s still unstable, I used it yesterday in training, at some point it decided not to sync anymore, not to detect twinmotion, despite numerous SU / TWI restarts

go figure…

Ah you’re right @ateliernab I misread which 2025 program hahaha
And yeah I’m getting the same. after one two semi-successful syncs, it stops syncing. (this link is a joke
