I have just completed a relatively small lidar scan It saves to my iPad, okay But as soon as I try to save it to the cloud, the iPad app just closes. I have tried it three times now. I am in Australia another country outside of the USA we have consumer protection laws here which states that if a product does not work as promised it should either be fixed or the user compensating.
Two things:
You should contact Trimble customer support. This is a user forum. Nobody here can do anything to address your problem.
You should remove your personal contact info from your post. It is against forum policy because bots scrape such things from the web to try to steal your identity.
dont you need my eamil addres how else can ui register with the forum ?
We donât need your email address. If someone wants to contact you, they can do so by private message through the forum softwareâŠ
Dont i have to use my email to join the forum ?
@tominthegong
Yes, ofcourse you need to provide an email address to join the forum.
What @slbaumgartner meant is that you included private information in your post, and thatâs against forum guidelines because that information can be scraped up by bots, used for Identity theft. Something you donât want obviously.
What private information did I give? The fact that I want consumer protection from being ripped off by companies like Trimble ? My point is the USA laws do not cover us here. Trimble relies on volunteers to do work which they should do. I use these tools professionally not as a hobby so I expect professional responses.
Name withheld because it is personal information
you gave your phone number and email adress in your first message. bots love to grab that and send you lots of spam.
but itâs your choice. maybe you like it.
an admin removed it. you can see this by clicking on the small pencil here.
off course since you donât come to the forum but only use the email version, you donât see it.
Your e-mail signature was in your first post.
I am not a lawyer but I donât think consumer laws apply to businesses. Of course, in Australia, like everything else, it might be the other way round. Did you buy SketchUp online or from an Australian company? That might also determine what laws apply.
Why not sue Trimble?
Then why are you asking in a user forum in the first place??? Contact Trimble!
As to the original question, have you tried to save your file locally on your iPad first, and then moving it too the cloud using the available file management tools in iPad? If your scan is very large, you might be running against file size, bandwidth and memory limitations in a portable device. Or is the âdiskâ in your iPad full?
