I suspect this problem has a very simple explanation. Twice now, I have built models, making components during the process. Then, all of a sudden, the components disappear from the model window under the “components” tag in the default menu.
The last week I was building a bathroom vanity sink. I made components of the sink deck, the backsplash, the front trim, and for the first time used the 3D warehouse to grab an undermount sink bowl. I also made combination components as I went along: sink deck with sink bowl (and cutout), sink deck with bowl and backsplash, finally, sink deck with bowl, backsplash, and front trim added.
I was then working on building one last bit of trim, and glancing at my model window, noticed only one component was displayed. The rest had gone poof. I tried to unhide all and looked in file folders, but they seemed to be really gone. In desperation, I hit CTRL Z several times, and the missing components suddenly reappeared in my “model” window.
I am using SketchUp Pro 2025.
The posts on this subject appear to be all slightly out of context.
Any idea what I’m doing wrong?

What do you mean by that?
I will have to grab the .skp file the next time it happens. I will also play around with components and try to duplicate this effect.
