This is the first time I have come across this problem. I’m currently working on a stone component drawing, using the same original file since starting the model. Not messed with units, I always work in millimetres, but for some reason my stone components are now coming into the model scaled up by 25.4x, so basically inches when I select them from the components tab. Any reason this would suddenly happen and anyway to resolve it as its now slowing me down massively.
Assumption: Based on the blueprint, you used the Tape Measure tool to scale the model while “my stone component” instance were present in a model. Instead of “Reset Scale” on this “my stone component” instance, you used the “Scale Definition” command.
Find one of the “my stone component” instance again in a model, scale it to the correct size using Scale Tool (or enter into it and use the Tape measure tool to scale)
Then right-click on “my stone component” instance and use the “Scale Definition” function. Now, when you grab it it from the Component Tray, you get the correct size instance.

That’s the problem, I havent used the measuring tool at all to scale any part of the model. Its not my methodology so I havent a clue how this has happened. Architects plan was brought in later and didnt need scaling as its also in millimetres. The problem I have now is that if I use the measuring tool on one of the large components and shrink it, all the definitions already in the model shrink and go to the incorrect origin. I’m trying to understand why half my components are fine and the other half suddenly have this scaling problem. Thanks for your help, I can see that what you have written works, just baffling me why it has occured.
OK I figured out if I right click on one of the correctly sized components in model and select “Scale Definition” then it updates and corrects all the scaled up components. Thanks Dezmo, it has saved me a lot of work!
Mark @dezmo’s post as the solution, so he gets credit.
