Hi!
We use Sketchup for School app from Google and all students have chromebooks to work. Sketchup works, but many of the students have a repeated problem: every now and then the chromebooks swith off when using the app, losing the work done up to that moment.
Does anyone else have had this same issue? Any recommendations to sort it?
Thanks!

It may be an error that happens when running SketchUp, especially a graphics issue.
On would expect that an error that happens when running an application causes at most the application/browser tab to crash, not the operating system. However if the graphics driver does properly support OpenGL features that SketchUp uses or if the driver has a bug, it may crash.
Can you check whether the graphics driver is up-to-date? If the Chromebook is not new, does it still receive updates, including hardware driver updates? -
3D graphics like in SketchUp for Web consume a significant amount of power. On devices with an old battery, the remaining capacity can drop rapidly during a short period of time.
Can you keep an eye one the battery status, if the devices where not plugged in?
check if any ‘sleep mode’ inactivity setting works for browser content…
some rely on mouse moves and typed input to ‘stay awake’…
