No. You’re not wrong. The viewport should reflect changes you make to the associated scene in SketchUp when you update the reference in LayOut. But, if you’ve overridden any scene properties for the viewport in LayOut, changes to those properties in the SketchUp model will not be shown. Select the viewport and look at the SketchUp Model panel in the tray. Are there reset buttons for any of the scene properties? It also requires you to be editing the linked SketchUp file. It’s easy on Mac to open the backup copy of the SketchUp file by mistake. The only difference in the file name is the addition of a tilde at the end. If you have been editing that instead of the working file LayOut won’t show those changes.
