Changing from metres to mm in Layout

Hi I have changed settings in doc set up in Layout as want to show measurements in mm on my plan but it is still showing metres? How do I change this? Thanks in advance.

that’s the paper units.

if you want to change the units of the dimensions, select your dimensions, then look for the dimension panel on your right (or in the window menu).

Thanks so much!

Am I able to type in the dimensions I want the line to be like Sketchup?

You can edit dimensions in LayOut but that won’t affect the SketchUp model. If you’re dimensioning a model you should create the model with the right dimensions in the first place so you don’t have to fudge the dimensions in LayOut.

Thank you.
The sketchup plan is all correct with dimensions. I am wondering if I can draw lines and type in the dimension I require in Layout? Just adding in some lighting and need to show the dimensions on top of my plan.

i have also now go these dots and little lines on my plan. I think I must have turned something on that has caused them. Anyone know how I get rid of them? Thank you,

You can use Scaled Drawing to draw in content in LayOut with the same scale as your viewport so then dimensions will automatically scale as they do with the viewports.

It looks like you have Endpoints turned on in the style in SketchUp. Go back to the model, edit the style to turn off Endpoints in the Edge settings and then click on the style thumbnail at the top left of the Styles panel to update it. Save the changes and then in LayOut, update the model reference.

Thanks, I have been in to sketchup and checked. End points are switched off. So I don’t know where these dots have come from?!

Share the LO file so we can see what you have set up.

I’ve looked at your file from your PM. This blobs in LayOut stem from some overlapping edges in the SketchUp model.

After deleting them and updating the reference in SketchUp, the blobs disappear.
