Changing a texture name in Sketchup 2024 crashes

In Sketchup 2024, when I go to rename a texture in mac’s material chooser window, it crashes every time i either tab out of the text box or press enter.

here is the crash report: https://pastebin.com/qVBTWBii

MacOS Monterey 12.7.5
Macbook Pro M1
Sketchup 2024 v24.0.483

SketchUp 2024 is marked as not compatible with Monterrey, I suppose you should update to Sonoma (last update) to avoid that problem.

Update your OS! You left it untouched, ignoring update requests, for years it seems.

There were a few combinations that could lead to a crash, if you tried editing a material that was not currently used in the model. With 2024.0.1 there now is a message that shows if you try to edit a material that is not in the Colors in Model set.

To rename a material that you had added to your own list previously, you would apply the old named material to a face, switch to Colors in Model, edit the material there, then copy the new named version back into your custom list.

You can get the 2024.0.1 update from this page:

Or use the Check for Update inside SketchUp.

By the way, the thin gray line above the eight rows of swatches you see can be dragged downwards, so the swatches take up less space.
