How do I change from trial version to the pro version I paid for. Do I have to delete the trial version ?
No need to delete the one you have been trying.
SketchUp works out what your subscription is when you sign in. If, since buying the Pro subscription you, haven’t yet signed out and signed in again, and it will think you are still doing the trial.
Try a sign out and sign in, then see if your Pro subscription shows in the Manage License screen.

Hi Colin I am having trouble extruding a bracket or corbel that is joined to a truss . I just cannot get it to extrude or even give me a face so I can make it a group.
I have tried everything I can think of to make sure it is all on the same plane and make sure all the intersections are good but the drawing just goes grey when I try to make it a group ??
Any ideas I could try ?

You really should have started a new thread for this.
Share the .skp file so we can see what you’re working with. There’s certainly a solution but it’s hard to tell what needs to be done without seeing what you’ve already done.
