Can't view component window when creating a new one

Can anyone help? When I click on make component the window does not appear. I can type the name of the component and save it but I can’t see the actual window so causing a big restriction!! Thanks

If you hover the mouse over the SketchUp icon on the Windows task bar thing, does there seem to be more than one window belonging to that process? (I don’t use SketchUp on Windows so this may be irrelevant or impossible, sorry.)
