Hi
Just tring to start using Sketchup for a few things but come across a hurdle on my first attempt.
I have created a shape from the photo match, but it won’t allow me to make it a 3d object via the push/pull.
I have tried for hours and am going nuts. Any ideas?

Share the SketchUp file with us so we can see what you have going on. Otherwise we can only guess.
The only faces you have are the holes. Trace an edge line segments with the Line tool and the face should fill in.

Well, in order for Push/Pull to have something to do, it needs a face. You might want to spend a little time with the video tutorials here.
