Can't open Sketchup files

I have been using my Sketchup subscription for about 9 months now. I believe it was Sketchup 2022 version. I’m using an older iMac, but had no problems with it, until today! When I opened Sketchup a note came up stating “macOS Version Warning: This computer is running a version of macOS that is not officially supported by SketchUp.” I assume the system automatically updated to the 2023 Sketchup version and my computer is not compatible with it. If so, is there any way I can go back to the older version so I can finish my projects while I work on updating my computer? Or maybe there is another reason I am having difficulty opening my files. Would much appreciate any help - thank you.
Kathy

You can download 2022 (and other versions) from the SketchUp download page.

SketchUp won’t automatically update to a newer version. You would have to do that yourself.

It’s possible that the operating system has been updated to a newer version that the version of SketchUp supports.

Unless you uninstalled SketchUp 2022, it would still be on your computer and you should be able to open it. Look in the SketchUp menu, left of File, for About SketchUp to find out what version you are using.

and… what version of Mac OS are you running ? you left that out of your profile, just wrote “macOS”

Most years when there is a major new version of SketchUp, the oldest supported macOS gets dropped. That suggests that you’re currently on 10.15.

What the support means is that if you are using a supported macOS, and you see a problem in SketchUp that is your macOS version specific, we would try to make SketchUp cope with that problem.

If you’re on a no longer supported version, we may not try to fix SketchUp, unless the problem also affects the later still supported versions.

That doesn’t mean it won’t work, but you would see the warning. As Dave suggests, unless you manually deleted your SketchUp 2022 folder from Applications, you could give 2023 a try, and if something doesn’t work you would still have 2022 around.

If you did manually delete it, you can get the 2022 disk image from here:

I am running macOS Catalina version 10.15.7

When I open sketchup through applications Sketchup 2023 opens and will not accept my login info. Same thing occurs when I try to open a sketchup file I saved on my computer. Can’t find where I can re-download Sketchup 2022 - can’t log in to my account so is that where I would find it?

The link I gave will give you the disk image without you needing to go to your account page.

Up and running!
Thanks everyone for your help!!
