Hello,
I’m having some issues with Skp Studio, some licenses for extensions and plugins such as VRAY, or revit importer can’t be activated, in the extension manager windows shows signed but I can’t activate them.
I use to work in two devices, logging in and logging out every time I change device, however, since last time I changed, I couldn’t reactivate these extensions.
I already tried to deauthorized all the devices, logout and login of the account, restart the PC or even reinstalling the program and nothing works, does anybody had this issue and got fixed?
There’s no need to log in and out if you’re using just two machines, your license lets you use up to two instances of sketchup, old versions of sketchup also count as instances, if you have older versions installed on any of your machines you should also log out from those versions.
Did you installed it properly? That means right clicking on the installer and select run as administrator, if you haven’t done that do it and when a window pops up select repair.
Might be a stupid question, but let’s start there.
Are you sure you have a studio subscription ? The SU installer is the same for studio and pro, and allows one to install the studio elements with a normal pro licence.
Had it only been vray, I would have suspected foul play between cosmos and your machine. It happens. But no revit importer (and scan essential I guess?) tends to tell me that your subscription might be a standard pro…
I do see that you have a Studio subscription. Me, and many other people, have had problems getting V-ray to know you have a Studio subscription. Hopefully someone’s advice in the forum will work for you as well.
I haven’t heard about Revit problems, and extensions in general are tied to your email address, not to the kind of subscription you have.
that would have been an easy fix, shame
the only time I tried it, I made the mistake of login on Vray’s website with my chaos account, and not my trimble account.
a quick log out / login with the right account worked. the studio licence showed up in my licences.
wait, can you show us a screenshot of your extension manager ? you describe you can’t activate them there, that’s not licencing issue : the “activated” tells us it’s installed and ready to work when you launch sketchup. you can have activated unlicenced plugins.
basically a plugin has 3 possible steps :
- first is it installed or not (yes in your case)
- second, is it activated or not. meaning, when you launch sketchup, does it launch too ? here it seems your sketchup is not cooperating
- finally, for some plugins, do you have a licence. you’re using Studio, so the answer is yes.
looks like you can’t activate them, so step 2.
Regarding type 2, try opening the Ruby Console, close SketchUp with the console still open, then relaunch SketchUp. If you see any messages in the console, share them here to help us sort out what went wrong.
While it does not hurt, logging in and out in the browser is not how the SketchUp app itself gets activated after the device reset.
You need to sign out in the welcome splash or via [menu] Help > signout {email.address}…
Than restarting is the most reliable way to regain access.
Thank you all for your comments and sugestions,
My second divice (at home) is working propertly, all licenses work as especting, my only problem is my second device (at office) where all external licenses are not working including ruby console.
I will reintall properly this Monday and see how’s gone, also, I was thinking that could be something related with my firewall and IT security provider, probably it is blocking those licences, specifically on that device.
