Hi, during saving process there was a bug, my file needed to be closed. After that, I cannot open it and I have an info “Failed to open document”. I cannot use .skb, it’s too old, I did a lot of progress since then. Can someone help to open it? Thank You.
Maybe. If you share the file.
Where were you saving the file while working on it? Your profile says you are using SketchUp 2025 Pro. If you have a current subscription were you also saving to Trimble Connect?
Hi, thanks for your response. Here is the link do my file: File Sketchup - Google Drive. I’m not using Trimble Connect. I saved my file on my SSD D: Drive.
Why not? Do you have a subscription for SketchUp?
Is that an internal drive or an external drive?
About 95% of the SketchUp file is nothing but zeroes. There’s nothing to recover from it.
Well that is possibly my bad - I wasn’t aware that I can use it and I do not know how to, so I’ll check this up. That is my internal drive. Thank you for cheking the file up.
It’s pretty easy. From the file menu click on Trimble Connect>Save to Trimble Connect. With a Pro or Studio subscription you get unlimited storage for SketchUp files. You should take advantage of it to save backups of your model files. Each time you save your model to Trimble Connect it creates an incremental save so if things go pear shaped with your model you might not lose as much work.
If the D:\ drive is internal you might want to check its health.
Did you have a power failure or something during the save?
Thanks for the tip! I was using dynamic component and adding up some changes to it, it took a while and as soon as I thought SU finished the process I automaticlly clicked Ctrl + S. I assume that it still has processing the changes to the dynamic component and I didn’t notice it.
That’s possibly it.
