After working with no problem for a couple of weeks now I am unable to draw lines or curves on any existing faces in my model. The line appears when I am drawing it, but when I finish it disappears. I do however find new unneeded lines inside the model connecting various endpoints which apparently are created when I was trying.
When drawing I get a lot of inference endpoints, probably endpoints from behind the face, often quite a distance behind the face. I cannot often get “on face” inference indications.
I have created new faces, such a rectangle, and the first line worked, then additional lines do not, rectangles lines circles, etc. however when I select this new rectangle all the lines appeared, and deleted OK. I am guessing this is a curvifloft extension problem.
Thank you Dave, I am sorry, my model is too big to upload, it is 13,638kb. I tried to delete all the content and create a new, smaller, model, with just a few rectangles and lines to demonstrate the problem, but it was still 13,638kb. When I cut out all that new content and placed it into an entirely new model which was 109kb size, the problem was not there, so it does little good to upload that one.
New models are not having the problem. Nor are models which I created prior to using Fredo’s curviloft extension and his LibFred06, even models with substantially all the same content and size (over 16,00kb), so I am now thinking that using Fredo’s extensions damaged the model and I will proceed to remove it from my system before going forward. (I have already disabled those extensions)
Have you purged the model after deleting all content? Formerly used components still exist in the ‘In Model’ component library keeping the file size as you see it.
See Model Info > Statistics > Purge unused.
I have now found a work-around for the problem: I have selected and copied the entire model. Then I opened a new model in sketchup and pasted in place. Other than a few artifacts which I have easily repaired, the model now works again. In the future I will again install and enable the Fred06 extensions, but in a carefully controlled manner, and test the theory that they caused the problem, however I now believe that those extensions may work and won’t cause the problem I experienced as long as they go to completion. On at least pone previous attempt the Curviloft command failed to complete and possibly left an issue in the model.
