Saving preferences in Layout has always been a bit of a stupid endeavour, I think we can all agree there. Having to save a drawing midway through placing a callout so that it saves it as a default setting is not how it should be…anyway…my default callout setting works so long as I dont place a callout on top of geometry in a viewport. Thoughts?
For reference, the pink area is the viewport. Callouts on the viewport and off work as they should, but as soon as the callout starts on the geometry, it changes the default font that I have saved.
UPDATE: After playing around with it more this morning, it seems that this only happens with the Flux Architect font. All other fonts do not experience this issue. I’m pretty sure that Flux is a font that I added myself years ago, maybe there is an issue with how Layout recognizes added fonts?
Flux Architect has been a troublesome font for years. It’s not just a problem in LayOut. It’s poorly made–looking at it in a font editor can show that.
Here are ones that came to mind out of the ones I have. There may be more but in LO2026, most of the fonts are displayed as plain text in the fonts list.
