Having imported the architect’s CAD floor plan, included some walls and windows (on just one room as a test case), the measurements are correct, but the model looks nothing like the actual proportions of the actual house. The windows are much wider. The wall height seems low. Please help.
You are correct the dining room is about 50’ wide. Get your tape measure tool out and check dimensions. Go into units and remove the tick from length snapping. Then rescale the floor plan. Go here for the directions.
You don’t appear to have imported the CAD drawing at the correct ‘scale’…
The rooms that have written dimensions do not measure that size with the tape measure…
It’s simple enough to fix…
Use the tape measure tool and click two points that have a dimension you expect to be correct.
The measurement box will show something different ?
Immediately type in the correct dimension [with units etc] and press return.
When prompted accept the re-scaling of the model…
Tip: do not click on anything further, e.g. not on the measurement box - just type in the correct dimension ‘in space’…
